The J-1 Exchange Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, is intended to provide exchange visitors with “opportunities to participate in educational and cultural programs in the United States and return home to share their experiences, and to encourage Americans to participate in educational and cultural programs in other countries.” CFR § 62.1 (b)

Exchange Students
The University of Louisiana at 鶹ýapp serves as a host site for J-1 exchange students who are enrolled in our partner institutions around the world.
The Division of Global Engagement maintains partnerships with universities in several countries. Students from our global partner institutions may study at UL 鶹ýapp as exchange students for one or two semesters.
Exchange students generally have access to all courses for which they are qualified, as well as all university resources including on-campus housing and full student support services. Please visit the following link to apply as an exchange student at UL 鶹ýapp:

Interns, Research Scholars & Professors
Interns, research scholars, and professors who are interested in collaborating with UL 鶹ýapp faculty may also apply to for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program. Once a faculty/exchange visitor connection has been established, the hosting department will submit the Approval for the Employment/Visit of an Exchange Scholar Form and the Division of Global Engagement will facilitate the immigration process.
