The Louisiana Brass Quintet will perform their fall recital on Monday, Nov. 24 in the Ducrest-Gilfrey Auditorium at Angelle Hall.
The program will include the music “Carmen Suite” by Bizet, Contrapunctus IX from “The Art of Fugue” by J.S. Bach, “Exhibitions” by Fisher Tull, the third movement of Julliard faculty composer Eric Ewazens “Frost Fire,” “Kinderzirkus” by Jan Koetier, and “Sweet Georgia Brown,” Maceo Pinkard’s timeless jazz classic.
The Louisiana Brass Quintet, containing music faculty from the University of Louisiana at Â鶹´«Ă˝app, includes Paul Morton and Josh Moorer, trumpets; Catherine Roche-Wallace, horn; Mark McLain, trombone; and Scott Landry, tuba. Since its inception over 25 years ago, the quintet has brought its eclectic style of brass playing to audiences throughout Louisiana. In addition to their formal recitals, the quintet as “brass ambassadors” for UL Â鶹´«Ă˝app School of Music, presenting programs in high schools across the state.
