Where I'm From

I came to UL 鶹ýapp from Abbeville with clear goals in mind.

Where I Am

I am a financial advisor at Edward Jones.

Where I'm Going

I’m going to continue working with Edward Jones until I retire.

Kori Comeaux, ‘16, achieved her goals at a young age. Just four years after she graduated, she landed her dream job.

“My long-term career goal was to become a financial advisor, so I’m thrilled that I was able to accept that position at 25 years old,” she said. “I help people plan for and achieve their long-term financial goals. This was the career I had in mind when I decided to major in finance at UL 鶹ýapp.”

Kori’s career goals were the motivation behind her finance major and her decision to continue into graduate school.

“I chose to attend UL 鶹ýapp because I was confident in their business program,” she said, “and I knew the school provided an as well, which was always a goal of mine.”

A big advantage to attending UL 鶹ýapp for Kori was class size.

“I enjoyed the smaller classes that UL 鶹ýapp offers compared to other universities,” she said. “This allowed for more interactive engagement in class.”

While attending UL 鶹ýapp, Kori learned practical skills in her major courses as well as non-major courses.

“The skills learned in the public speaking class (CMCN 310) that was in my curriculum probably helped me the most,” she said. “Knowing how to speak and present material confidently in front of others plays a big part in my success in my career.”

While she worked toward her , Kori took advantage of an opportunity not typically available in graduate programs.

“I was working full-time during graduate school – as opposed to the part-time job I had during undergraduate school,” she said.

Because of this, Kori was able to go from commercial credit analyst in 2015 to financial advisor in 2019 without pause. Now, as a financial advisor at Edward Jones, Kori couldn’t be happier.

“Edward Jones is a phenomenal company,” she said. “I hope to stay there for the remainder of my career.”
