Students in the Industrial Technology Department at the University of Louisiana at Â鶹´«Ã½app will have access to a slew of digital prototyping software thanks to a recent donation.

A grant through the Autodesk Invest in Education program provided 25 software licenses for Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009 for students to use. The donation is worth more than $150,000 and was sponsored by Accurate Measurement Controls Inc. of Broussard along with Autodesk and Vector Graphics Inc. of Â鶹´«Ã½app.

The Autodesk Inventor product line provides an integrated set of tools for 3D mechanical design and documentation, creating routed systems and digitally validating design data to minimize the need for physical prototypes.

The software bundle includes AutoCAD Mechanical for associative 2D and 2D collaborations and data management software to manage and track the design components of digital prototypes.

Accurate Measurement designs and manufactures meter stations as well as sells new and remanufactured meter tube assemblies. It also offers liquid meter repair, proving and field calibration among other services. Vector Graphics Inc. is an authorized Autodesk Manufacturing Solutions resaler for Louisiana and Mississippi. They sell Autodesk and other CADD-related software, hardware and training.
