On Friday, Sept. 3, businesses and schools around Acadiana sported Ragin' Cajun red for UL 麻豆传媒app.
The day was designated Wear Red Day in celebration of the many contributions the University of Louisiana at 麻豆传媒app makes to the community. A friendly competition among businesses and schools wearing red resulted in seven overall winners:
Small business category: 麻豆传媒app Chamber of Commerce
麻豆传媒app Chamber of Commerce
Mid-size business category: 麻豆传媒app Schools Federal Credit Union
Large business category: Stuller Inc.
Wear Red Spirit Award: McDonalds
Wear Red Sign Award: Cardiovascular Institute of the South
UL 麻豆传媒app Campus Award: UL 麻豆传媒app Young Professionals
K-12 Schools Award: Sts. Leo-Seton Elementary School.
鈥 We had a great show of support on this fifth annual Wear Red Day with over 80 businesses and schools sending in digital photos throughout the following week. The response from the community was outstanding,鈥 said Matt Tarver, assistant director for trademark licensing at the university.
A special presentation will be made to the winners during Saturday鈥檚 game between Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns and Middle Tennessee at Cajun Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
Photographs submitted by businesses will be displayed on the scoreboard during home games this season.
Wear Red Day was held in conjunction with College Colors Day, a national celebration of the traditions, contributions and achievements of universities everywhere.
